Guess I'll be waiting until Monday to set the bugger up. Leaves me more time to carve this weekend I guess..........

Friday Delivers
Well, at least I hope it delivers... To solve my "need" to spend copious amounts of money now that FMD and I got our tax returns back, we've come to the conclusion its time to replace the computer's monitor. Its bad. Its fuzzy around the edges and its starting to go a little dark in some areas. So. Here it is! The ViewSonic VA2226w 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor! According to the tracking info, it should be arriving at my place of business today! I've been checking our package drop off area every half hour (or more) looking for this bad boy to get in! I don't know if its worse waiting for it to be delivered or if it'll be worse for me to sit here in my cube staring at it wanting to go home and install it right away....... Neither are bad problems to have in the grand scheme of things though.
For the weekend, well, I have nothing planned. I'm thinking I want to finish up my decoy heads so I can attach them to the body and get them ready to be sealed and painted! After that, I need to get a chunk of wood for more heads and then find a band saw for me to cut the corks and wood so I can keep on making more! I'm hoping to have a whole rig (the term used by decoy aficionados for their decoy spread) completed by the time the season comes around.
I guess thats it! Yet another slow day at work and I can only read so many Brewers blogs a day (they won their first game of spring training yesterday 7-1 for those of you who care). Hope this post finds everyone well and I'll see you again on Monday!

I'm In HEAT!
HEAT is the new "ticket" tracking system that we just switched over to today. In one word I can describe this great new tool in breaking down the walls prohibiting adequate communication between the Hospital and the Foundation... Ready for it? Sucky.
I don't like it at all. It rolled out today and the program isn't even working correctly for us. I can see why the Hospital likes it so much already! (Read With Extra Sarcasm!)
Bleh. Such is life. On to tomorrow...

Burning Down The House!
Ok. I didn't burn it down, instead I brought it to a screeching halt! Today while updating the DNS server at work with the new device names and IPs of two printers, the server came to a complete stop. The company (or maybe just the office who knows) was without the internet for approximately 6 minutes! Nothing of this was my fault however because there happened to be an error on the server and my command was the one that finally broke the camel's back. After feeling bad for all of 17 micro seconds, I returned to my desk for a very welcomed 6 minute break!
Sorry... I Forgot...
Yup. So much for that once a day blogging I was promising to no one but myself... Such is life. Without further adieu, here's the Tuesday/Wednesday update.
Tuesday - Nothing.
Wednesday - Nothing.
Thank you and have a good night!
Ok. I'm kidding, but not very much. The past couple days have been pretty slow and relaxing. I enjoy going home at night to find FMD there after a hard day at work/school and the fact she stays the night there with me. Its great. I'm one of those folks who finds peace in being with someone even though there isn't anything really being "done". I don't need to entertain myself and whomever I'm with, I'm just fine "hanging out". That being said, my decoys aren't finishing themselves. I did however manage to edit some photos for FMD last night that I've been promising to do for the past 2 months. Yeah for procrastination!
In other un-exciting news, I'm finding it nearly impossible to receive our tax returns and not spend the money immediately. Its tough! I usually look to my returns as a forced government savings plan that allows myself to splurge big time at least once a year. FMD and I discussed these matters last night and we've decided that no money will be going towards a really sweet kevlar canoe or a really sweet new car. Both of these ideas have been tossed around for quite a while and now they've been put to rest.
The only big ticket item left on our list is the possibility of a new computer. Discussion has only come about recently because the new AV software that I installed on my desktop machine is really hitting the computer's processing power hard. As a computer guy, I think I'm one of the most accepting people of slower/older computers because I realize buying a new one is just a big money pit. You put tons of money into one only to have it crap out on you in a few years. In my current computer's case however, its been six. It think its life has come to an end and it may be time to upgrade. Why upgrade? Do I do any crazy programming or gaming that requires a super computer? No. Do I want a super computer anyways? Yes. My thought track is, and follow with me here, is that I'm hoping to build (yes, BUILD) by own computer that will last another six years. All it really needs to be able to do is surf the net, prepare my resume once in a blue moon, and edit some photos if I ever get off my ass and take photos in the first place. I don't know what to think. I hate to see all this money just sitting in an account and I'm ignoring it like the dirty bastard child it is. Oh well. This debate isn't going to be solved by me sitting here and writing about it. I hate to think about what will happen in May when the government sends me another big whopping check for no reason other than it WANTS me to spend it instead of saving it up and buying a house.......

The Weather Outside
Well, its not exactly frightful today, but it could be better. After a weekend of being outside soaking up the sun, the gray and dreariness outside just isn't welcome in my book. Expect 1-3 inches of snow. Such is life in Wisconsin right?
This weekend brought friends to town to visit... It was WONDERFUL! HJT and HM arrived late on Friday night and we got out on the town right away. Our destination was the Ivory Room piano bar. It seems a little hoity toity at first, but if you like hanging out in a fun loving crowd singing along with tunes from Billy Joel to Gordon Lightfoot to REO Speedwagon and beyond, this is the place for you. If you go, I totally recommend hitting the Friday night show after midnight to see Richard Shaten. The man is amazing! No music, no nonsense, no holds barred piano playing. You've got to see it to believe it.
Saturday was the day to sleep in and recover a little. I set the alarm for 9 so I could get up and purchase tickets to 3 Brewers games to go to before FMD and I leave Madison and getting to the games became a bigger chore. We've got tickets to the May 11th (vs. Cardinals), June 1st (vs. Astros), and June 14th (vs. Twins). I'm pumped!
On Saturday once everyone else was awake, we headed over to the Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Its always refreshing to go from 20+ degree temps outside to 80+ degree temps inside. It was neat to see the collection of trees, plants, and flowers from around the world. After the gardens, we took to the ice over at Tenny Park. Skating really was a great time! I need to sharpen my left skate some, but overall, I did pretty good for not being out at all over the past year! The evening found us hanging out at home drinking and playing games while HJT slept on the couch. I'd say she's a party pooper, but I really know how nice it is to get away from home sometimes so you don't have to worry about cooking and cleaning and fixing and etc. It was meant to be a relaxing weekend and we all took advantage of the fact!
Sunday found more warm weather and a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's! For FMD and HJT it was a first time experience. We had a great time and the pizza was actually pretty good! We ended up with 425 tickets and traded them in for two table football sets and some sort of nail/earring tatoos. A great time was had by all. After some serious ice chopping in the driveway, HJT and HM headed home. FMD and I rented movies (Superbad and Knocked Up) and I really enjoyed them! I was a little skeptical at first, but hey, I can be right all the time can I? Don't answer that ;)
Thats the weekend recap for ya. Today finds me at work without much to do, except blog of course. I hope everyone had a great weekend as well!

BEAUTIFUL!
Have you been outside yet today? Have you been out with the windows rolled down and the radio cranked up? I sure have!
Jimmy the Groundhog isn't as full of crap as most think... Ok. Well maybe he is, but he's right on track with days like today! I wish I was at home so I could scrape some ice out of the driveway in front of our garage or, well, I wish I wasn't stuck here in this cubicle!
If you havn't been outside yet today, get out now! Stop reading and go! My blog will be here on Tuesday when we're getting another 6"-8" and you can catch up then... Go! Now! Have a great weekend!

Ssslllooowww Dddooowwwnnn...
After rushing my butt from here to there and hoping I could keep up with all the work in my group's pipeline, the inevitable slow down once we finished all the work piled on us (because we're a bunch of rockstars) has finally hit. Maybe it was the weird moon last night and the tide has now swung around to low, but who knows. Its one of those days that I've checked everyone's blogs at least twice, my email five times and don't know how many times I've got up and looked to see if there is new inventory to be checked in... Oh well. When it rains it pours, and when it doesn't rain, well, its gets real dry. Any suggestions on how I can pass my day yet still keep up an appearance of being busy would be greatly appreciated.

$29,017.71!
Thats right folks... $29,017.71... Our company's phone bill... For the month of January...
It was my job to balance the bill and make sure departments and offices were billed for their fair share. My journeys took me from being $3,250 over to $4,850 under. After a couple weeks, the bill... Balanced. I hope everyone has the chance to feel the sense of relief and accomplishment I did this afternoon. Its a pretty uplifting experience. Now, its off my back and I can get back to enjoying my week.

My Addiction
I carry my addiction with me everywhere. I can hardly go an hour without taking a hit. Its the last thing I do before I go to bed and one of the first I do in the morning. The fact I didn't have my addiction with me this morning after having a tooth filled at the dentist has left me in agony all day long! I usually have an extra in case of emergency in my desk at work, but the other day I forgot as well and took it home with me... Sunday I was visiting my brother and he was able to hook me up when I was falling apart. If my wife is around, she usually carries an extra pick-me-up that I can use from time to time. What is a man to do in a situation like this?!?!?!?! AAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!! It pains me to do this... But... Well... I've gotta ask...
Can I borrow your chapstick?

As Promised!
Monday, Monday...
Well, I'm back on the blogging wagon (at least today I am), and honestly, I don't have a ton to report. Friday night found FMD and I heading to the circus. I was a little skeptical at first when she said she wanted to go, but honestly, I had a really great time! I was amazed at the things people can do and even more amazed by the animals that performed. Who knew an elephant was so agile?
Saturday was my last rabbit hunt of the year. I hunted with my brother and dad and only got one. One was enough to get them to place in their tourney though so I've got to be happy with that. Now I just have to sit back and wait until hunting season starts all over again. September 1st can't come soon enough!
Sunday found Madison drowning in really crappy weather and so I had to go out and drive around in it. I'll honestly say that was the worst weather of the winter and probably one of the worst driving days I've ever experienced. Everyone on the road was being a complete basket case and shouldn't have been out there. Needless to say, I made it over to my brother's house to watch the Daytona 500 and even made it back home in one piece.
Today I had an early doctor's appointment to get some new orthodics made. The doc said that I should have a new pair made every year. My last pair has lasted me 9 years. Oops. Oh well. I'm excited to have a new pair! On the work front however, I managed to screw up the inventory tracking pretty bad and tonight when I was trying to finish the process, I managed to F up some of the tracking serials on a req I did a week ago... How am I supposed to figure that one out? I have no idea.
Now I'm headed home to the Mrs. and we're cleaning the house for company this weekend and heading over to the grocery store to re-stock the shelves!

Wiping The Slate Clean
I'm sorry. I've let everyone down. Ok, probably not, but still I can only hope for such a loyal fan base that hangs on my every word and can't make it through their day without their daily dose of BJ. Shit. That last sentence makes me wonder how I make it through the day with my constant dose of BJ wherever I go! I can't blame you at this point. Enough. I'm rambling.
Anyways, I'm wiping the slate clean. Forget what's happened in my life over the past couple weeks and focus on whats going on in the next few. There. We're all caught up! Don't you feel better now? Great! See you Monday! Have a great weekend!
PS - Yes, I did get my wife socks for Valentine's Day for those of you who were wondering. But I thought I told you to stop wondering! Remember? Wiping the slate clean of the previous couple weeks?
PPS - Yes, I did get her something else besides socks... Are we ok now? CLEAN SLATE REMEMBER?!?!?!

Snow Day
Yesterday was a snow day for me... Wednesday truly is the greatest day of the week isn't it? With the total 13+ inches we got yesterday, I really don't have much to write about other than I went to work, was annoyed by everyone who kept going from cube to cube talking about this business was closing and that business was closing, ate a doughnut, and went home shortly after noon... Yes you read that correctly. I was annoyed by my co-workers lack of productivity. I understand that if you're a truck driver or pizza delivery person, your work may be hampered by the weather. If you work in a cube farm in a climate controlled office, cut the crap out and get to work. I had to do extra duty for folks yesterday because they weren't doing anything to help out. I realize my attitude towards work is different now that I have a job that I'm enjoying and am able to feel good about. My hard work was rewarded, however, with an early dismissal, an afternoon full of watching season 4 of Scrubs, a nap, and decoy head carving. Wonderful!

Oh Crap!
Last night my dog thought it would be fun to barf while FMD and I were doing our taxes. Yuck. I hate dog puke. One thing to note about Willie is that he just about always yaks twice. The first one is the major one, and the second one is to catch you off guard while you're cleaning up the first pile.
I decided last night that I was going to have none of that! I put the dog out on our snow covered porch for his second hurling episode. I don't care if he does it out there. Hell, we're supposed to get 4-9 inches of snow tomorrow so I won't even have to look at it! When the warm weather comes, it'll just run off with the melt down and I'll be done with it. Sick I know, but I really don't like dog vomit.
Anyways, I cleaned up the first pile and left Willie outside for a while because he still hadn't done his deed the second time around. When I went back a couple minutes later to check on him, he was all hunched over shitting on the porch! WTF?!?!?! LOL?!?!?! What the heck? I found it rather hilarious and I'm glad FMD did too. Instead of picking up his doo-doo outside next to the sidewalk, I picked it up off the porch. Hilarious!
Ok. So some might not find that funny at all and some may even go as far as to say that this is my grossest post yet, but thats fine by me. And just in case you're wondering, yes, Willie blew chunks the second time later that night. FMD found a pile this morning when she woke up... Bleh!!!

Yet Another Recap Post
Ok. I've been slacking in the posting department lately, but honestly its because I've been real busy at work lately! I'm either going to have to start coming in late, coming in early, or *gasp*, start blogging from home! Here's the recap...
Thursday found me in meetings I really had no business being in... All day long... The meetings were for new software that I really pushed hard for at my old company. Its a different vendor, but a really cool product none-the-less. Why am I in the meetings? Not sure yet, but I'm guessing as a technical advisor of sorts.
Friday found me back at work and trying to catch up. Printer setup after printer setup... Tons of inventory and requests for inventory. Nothing exciting at all!
This weekend was a lazy one. FMD started the weekend off on the right foot by going to Sun Prairie's annual Groundhog Fest (http://www.groundhogcentral.com/). Jimmy the Groundhog arrived in style (a little late buy in style) on a ladder truck from the fire department. He was dressed-to-the-nines in a tux and top hat. He eventually thought they were a bit much, even for a holiday devoted to him, and he wiggled his way out of the outfit before giving us the good news that spring is coming early this year!
After that, FMD went to work and I headed out to pick up my venison from the meat plant. Hmmm. Jimmy was full of shit... Two inches of snow slowed my travels, but I made it there and back unscathed. Saturday night was a night for chillin' at the house and watching a movie in bed.
Sunday found FMD and I with the day off together since her preceptor at work changed her work schedule and forgot to include her on the plans... Thats fine by me. We celebrated by going to the new National Treasure movie and had Cherry Pepsi and Popcorn with a side of Junior Mints for breakfast! After the movie, we headed home and cooked a real breakfast in the early afternoon and napped delightfully afterwards. Pre-kickoff, we decided homemade pizza was going to be dinner so we scrambled off to the store and got all the fixings for a pepperoni, canadian bacon, cheese, mushroom, broccoli pizza. Weird I know but hey, you didn't have to eat it. After it was cooked, we also made an apple and brown sugar pizza and it was delightful! Eating ensued and the Giants won! My three most disliked QBs in the NFL are Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Eli Manning. Since I didn't really care for either team, I decided to root for my least disliked quarterback of the three... It was a great game!
And yes, now we're at Monday. I showed up today to have my co-worker greet me and ask why I was here... I was puzzled by this. She showed me a slip that noted I had quit and HR wanted my account disabled! After a few unruly words, my supervisor showed up and said it was a mix up and my job was in no jeopardy. Crisis averted. Now, my day has consisted of taking care of the phone bills for the Telecom department. Why the hell am I doing this while they sit over there and eat too much junk food and play FreeCell? I have no f'ing clue... I'm sorta wishing that I wasn't here today, just like HR said I shouldn't be... Such is life. Tomorrow is another day.
