No, nothing terrible happened, its just an interesting blog title. You should also note that for some reason my typing is particularly atrocious today and that if something doesn't make sense, please forgive me and try to read between the lines.
The rainy weekend found FMD and I in Marshfield once again looking for homes. The first property was wonderful and the listing agent's assistant told us it contained 30+ acres of wooded land for a phenomenal price. We spent way to much time visiting it and we were late to all our other appointments. A couple other nice homes, but just didn't fit our fancy, passed the afternoon, and we stopped into our last house for the day. We were 2-3 hours late for the appointment (read: spent too long at the first house and go lost trying to find the others) and we weren't able to see it other than just through the windows. It was a beautiful log cabin looking house and both FMD and I were impressed.
More exciting than the house hunting was the meeting with the mortgage man. FMD and I apparently have done very well in the credit department and we shouldn't have any problems finding and affording the home of our dreams. He said we could even factor in building to improve the property into our mortgage because we were such solid loan candidates. Exciting news!
The rest of the weekend was spent with FMD's family in Spirit and we basically hung out on the farm. We tried moving the horse feeder, but it tipped over and we had to take another hour to stand it up and get it repositioned. We also headed over to PS and PM's acres to check out their maple syrup cooking operation. Impressive to say the least!
Once back in Madison, FMD and I started talking in depth about the properties that were on the top of our house hunting list. We looked at county tax maps to determine property boundaries and found that the first home we looked at didn't contain any wooded area at all. Total bummer! We wasted so much time looking at the house and property all to find out we were going to be 2 hours late to the house that really tickled our fancy... So... Another trip to Marshfield is coming in a couple weekends and we'll hopefully be able to check things out better then!
